Dengue cases in Bulacan down by 43 percent

Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU) of the Provincial Public Health Office noted a 43% decrease in reported dengue cases in Bulacan compared to the same period last year.

Dengue Surveillance of PESU accounted 1,319 cases from January 1- July 30 2016 that were gathered from different Disease Reporting Units compared to 2,333 dengue cases in 2015.

With this, Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado reminded Bulakenyos not to be complacent but to continue cleaning their surroundings and be more vigilant when it comes to dengue symptoms.

Based on the PESU records, municipalities and cities with the highest number of reported cases were Plaridel with 152, San Miguel with 141, City of San Jose del Monte with 113, City of Malolos with 99 and Baliuag and Santa Maria with 90. (PIA 3)
