DOLE gives ‘Pangkabuhayan Starter Kits’ to 510 Bulakenyos

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in partnership with the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Youth, Sports and Public Employment Services Office distributed Pangkabuhayan Starter Kits to 510 Bulakenyo beneficiaries during the Awarding and Distribution of DOLE Livelihood Project held on Wednesday at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium and The Pavilion in Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city.

Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando together with DOLE Provincial Director May Lynn Gozun led the distribution of grocery items for sari-sari store to 275 Bulakenyo beneficiaries and 235 beneficiaries of livelihood kits with skills training affected by COVID-19 pandemic including 90 bread and pastry ovens, 50 powder soap kits, 35 food processing kits, 25 sewing kits and machines, 20 welding machines, 10 raw baking materials and five  body massage kits.

“Ang mga pinili po natin na benepisyaryo ay mostly mga displaced workers at ‘yung mga sumailalim sa livelihood training sa Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Bulacan. Mahalaga ang tulong na ito mula sa DOLE para sa mga Bulakenyo lalo na sa panahong ito ng pandemya,” Fernando said.

Meanwhile, in a video message sent by DOLE Regional Director Ma. Zenaida Angara Campita, she said that she hopes that the beneficiaries will put into good use the initial capital given to them by the department through the initiative of Fernando.

She added that, “kapag after three years po at kayo ay umunlad at nangailangan pa ng mga equipment na kakailanganin sa produksyon ninyo at nakita naming matatag at mayroon na kayong malaking merkado subalit may kakulangan lamang sa makina, kami po ay handang  tumulong muli, pero kung hindi po ito mapapaunlad ay wala na po.”
