To address the growing traffic volume at the Meycauayan-Marilao, Bulacan corridor, the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), NLEX Corporation, and Bulacan local government units recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the construction of 190-meter Marilao East Service Road. This partnership aims to ease traffic congestion and provide the public a more direct local route to and from Meycauayan and Marilao.
Signing the MOA are Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade (4th from left), Toll Regulatory Board Executive Director Atty. Alvin Carullo (2nd from right), Public Works and Highways Assistant Regional Director Denise Maria Ayag (right), Bulacan 4th District Representative Henry Villarica (3rd from left), Meycauayan City Mayor Linabelle Villarica (2nd from left), Marilao Councilor Arnold Papa (left) on behalf of Marilao Mayor Ricardo Silvestre, Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation President and CEO Rodrigo Franco (3rd from right), and NLEX Corporation President and GM J. Luigi Bautista (4th from right).
With this new project, motorists will eventually have an alternate access to the north from Paso de Blas, Valenzuela City all the way to Marilao, Bulacan, bypassing MacArthur Highway and other local streets.
