DOH turns over ambulances, patient transport vehicle to Aurora

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Department of Health (DOH) turned over a total of 15 ambulances and 1 patient transport vehicle to the province of Aurora.

Funded under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program, it aims to enhance the resilience of the healthcare system, as well as vigilance in managing current and future public health threats.

DOH Regional Director Corazon Flores said this is the first time the region has given the highest number of ambulances benefiting the province of Aurora.

“With this initiative, we are aiming to lessen the delays in patient transfer from one facility to another, therefore giving the patients coming to our care the immediate health interventions they need,” Flores said.

Every municipality received two ambulances except for the municipality of Maria Aurora which received one ambulance and one patient transport vehicle.

Each vehicle has a medical equipment, instruments, accessories and peripherals needed to aid with any medical emergency.

In response, Aurora Lone District Representative Rommel Rico Angara expressed his gratitude for this program.

“Despite the pandemic, I am grateful for DOH because amid your several responsibilities you included in your priorities these ambulances which are much needed in our province,” Angara said.

“This will be of great help to us especially to the distant communities where there is a need for transportation of patients requiring medical service,” he furthered.
