DPWH completes construction of health facilities in Mariveles

BALANGA CITY — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the construction of three units of one storey Standard Health Facilities Container Van in Mariveles town.

DPWH Bataan 2nd District Engineer Ulysses Llado said the PhP41 million infrastructure located in barangay Alasasin aims to provide additional quarantine facilities in the municipality and will serve as one of the main evacuation areas during calamities and other health related emergencies.

“Three clusters of 20-footer container vans were customized into 16-units air-conditioned emergency health facility. Each cluster is equipped with comfort rooms, male and female quarters for frontline health personnel, a nurse station, and an electrical room,” Llado added.

The facility was also provided with a ramp to serve Persons with Disabilities, a centralized hallway passage, a portable generator set and a single-phase electrical power distribution system per health facility cluster.

In a statement, DPWH Regional Director Roseller Tolentino said all construction activities in Central Luzon are strictly monitored especially those in the district offices, ensuring that no project is left behind in schedule.

“This is our response to the crisis that has lingered in the country for a year now. We shall take each day as a regular working day but with insurmountable efforts to live up to the timetable of Secretary (Mark Villar) and the national government,” he furthered.
