BALANGA CITY — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the widening of the 3.2-kilometer portion of Gov. JJ Linao Road in the municipality of Pilar.
Bataan 2nd District Engineering Office reported the completion of the PhP96.5-Million project starting at barangay Nagwaling to barangay Diwa for Segment 1 and portion at barangay Liyang for segment 2.
“The entire 3.2 kilometer stretch of Gov. JJ Linao Road which used to be a narrow 2-lane road now has four lanes and offers unobstructed scenic driving experience to motorists in this area of the Bataan,” DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said.
The cabinet official added that with better mobility, the widened road supports the economic and tourism development programs of the province with its rich natural resources and agro-industrial areas.
Undersecretary for Luzon Operations Rafael Yabut explained that this serves as the main thoroughfare coming from Balanga going to tourist destinations in the coastal part of Bagac town.
