DPWH eyes completion of FMR in Cabanatuan by July

CABANATUAN CITY — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) eyes the completion of a farm-to-market road in barangay Balite, Cabanatuan City by July this year.

Implemented by Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office, the P11.64 million project was funded under the 2022 General Appropriations Act.

“This is seen to greatly contribute to the agricultural economy of barangay Balite,” District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad said.

When completed, the 1.403-kilometer road will give farmers a faster and safer route to transporting their fresh produce and goods to Nueva Ecija’s major markets.

The project is part of the agency’s convergence program with Department of Agriculture.

“DPWH believes that providing the agricultural sector with adequate infrastructure will help accelerate the recovery of our farmers who have been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Trinidad added.
