The Pampanga government’s provision of P100,000 incentives to those 95 years old and above was recognized as among the nine awardees for the recently concluded 2016 Central Luzon Regional Search for Best Practice given by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Held at WalterMart in this city, the theme for this year’s search was “Aktibong Pamahalaan at Mamamayan Tungo Sa Pagpapaunlad ng Bayan.”
Regional Director Gemma Gabuya said that community involvement and active people’s participation play an important role in the performance of best practices shown by the local government units.
The regional director urged the municipal links and the parent beneficiaries of 4Ps to continue in helping the government officials in the implementation of the program for the benefit of the target beneficiaries.
The “Pera sa Basura” entry of Pulilan, Bulacan was adjudged as this year’s grand winner. The Pulilan LGU was given a plaque of appreciation plus P15,000 cash.
The awarding was attended by town mayors, municipal social welfare development officers (MSWDOs), municipal links, recipients of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s) and other concerned groups.
