IBA, Zambales — Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go announced plans by the Duterte administration to put up a Malasakit Center in Zambales.
The Malasakit Center is a one-stop shop to help patients seek easier health assistance.
It is a program to speed up delivery of medical services and give poor patients access to free medicines.
“The government is working very hard to solve the problems of millions of Filipinos who are unable of availing quality healthcare due to poverty,” Go said during his attendance to a medical mission for the victims of typhoon “Ompong.”
He added that the essential act of seeking medical assistance is often a luxury for most Filipino families.
Under the Malasakit Center, patients will be assisted in availing services and financial assistance provided by Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, Department of Health and Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Aside from addressing health concerns, Go also spoke about the government’s major infrastructure projects in the province including the Subic-Clark Railway, Bagac-Mariveles Road, Capas-Botolan Road, and the Php10 billion tourism project in Candelaria town.
