MARIVELES, Bataan – Bataan Governor Abet S. Garcia on Tuesday led the groundbreaking rites of Seasia Nectar Port Services Inc. (SNPSI) Mariveles Multipurpose Terminal in Brgy. Sisiman, Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) here.
The event marks the start of the 2nd phase of SNPSI’s project development.
Gov. Garcia was joined by Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) Chairman and Administrator Emmanuel D. Pineda, SNSPI Chairman Ramon R. Atayde, and Phinma Inc. President Ramon Del Rosario.
“Similar to what we like to say at AFAB, I believe that the success of Seasia has only just began. We started off as a simple Freeport community, even joking around that we were a Freeport without a port, but now, here we are on the cusp of having a multipurpose terminal.”, Chairman Pineda said during his message.
The ceremonies coincided with the signing of the Registration Agreement between the AFAB and Philcement Corporation, a subsidiary of Phinma Inc. and an incoming FAB Enterprise that shall locate in SNPSI’s Mariveles Multipurpose Terminal.
Philcement is engaged in the business of processing, marketing, importing, trading, selling, and distributing cement, cement products, and other by-products, and establishing, operating, and managing cement supply terminals.
They company will construct new facilities within a land area of 10,000 square meters, with an initial project cost of 1.25 billion pesos, and is estimated to employ at least 500 workers during the construction phase, and 100 employees during operations.
The project is set to start their commercial operations by the 1st quarter of 2019.
SNSPI has been a FAB Registered Enterprise since September 2014, and is engaged in the business of handling of containers, bulk liquid and dry cargoes, refrigerated warehousing facilities, warehousing and stevedoring, lightering, towing and/or storing of cargo handled by the company to and from port terminals in the delivery from abroad and/or for shipment abroad. Seasia has recently been recognized as one of the FAB Top Employers for 2016.
The FAB is the Freeport of choice in the Philippines for high-end fashion manufacturing enterprises, having posted the fastest growth rate in both investment and employment generation from 2012 to 2016.
The FAB envisions to be a magnet for development, and is now moving towards the direction of attracting Business Process Outsourcing, logistics, and port-related operations. It aims to become a center of trade, innovation and sustainable development in Asia and to promote work-life balance and global competitiveness.
