A Fernandino will now have the chance to prove himself to be in a class of his own as he is set to battle it out on Saturday in the Season 5 grand finale of the amateur singing competition Tawag ng Tanghalan on the noontime variety show It’s Showtime.
All contenders are now all finalists for the singing contest, with the scheduled run of the segment shortened by dropping the semi-final rounds and Resbak (wildcard) rounds.
19 year old Psalm Manalo from Essel Park Subdivision in the City of San Fernando, will now compete on August 28 against eight other contenders in what the singing search dubs as the Ang Huling Tapatan (The Final Face-off).
Psalm became a semi finalist last June 4 after outsinging his rivals for two straight weeks in a series of daily rounds in the First Quarter Finals held between May and June.
The finals was supposed to be held on October but the situation gripping the country by the extra-contagious variant of COVID-19 virus seems to be chancy, forcing the show to hold the search for the best amateur singer much earlier than scheduled.
Psalm is urging his Cabalens from every nook and cranny of Pampanga and the country to watch the finals and to vote for him since racking up more votes will move him closer to becoming the Season 5’s grand winner.
In his Facebook post, Psalm said that the unbroken motivations and joy he gets from his family are what drives him to give his all every time he performs on stage.
50% of the criteria will come from text votes from the people while the jury (Hurado’s Score) accounts for the remaining 50 percent.
The competition is streamed online on youtube.com/ShowtimeOnlineUniverse and is broadcast live from Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort inside the Clark Freeport in Pampanga which has played host to It’s Showtime since August 21.
