Miriam College partners with ALI anew, to break ground Alviera campus in September

Miriam College (MC), one of the metro’s premier academic institutions, inks another partnership with Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) with the planned development of MC Alviera— the institution’s greenest, most state-of-the-art campus project to date.

Expanding its footprint beyond Metro Manila with the opening of its Nuvali campus in Laguna in 2014, MC sets its sights further with the establishment of a new campus in Alviera—designed by Lor Calma & Partners, led by Arch. Ed Calma—which will break ground in September and is set to open its doors to learners by 2023.

Alviera—a 1,800-hectare master-planned estate in Porac, Pampanga—is a joint project of Ayala Land Inc. and Leonio Land Holdings Inc. Geared to become one of Central Luzon’s prime business hubs, Alviera is seen to create a community of 20,000 office and industrial workers, 65,000 residents, and 20,000 students upon its full development. The establishment of MC’s campus in the estate enables this economic and lifestyle growth center to also become a creative innovation hub that will help prepare and equip young minds for today’s hypercompetitive marketplace.

MC Alviera will be co-educational and will offer all educational levels, from preschool to graduate school, in phases—with certain focus areas and select courses in anticipation of the region’s potential talent pool needs in the near future. Its programs—especially the tertiary and post-graduate offerings—are designed to groom learners for opportunities beyond employment and equip them with the skills necessary to establish their own ventures.

Place-based learning elements will be infused in MC Alviera’s Kindergarten and early Grade School to emphasize real life relevance while its K-4 will see the integration of design thinking and innovation. MC Alviera’s Senior High School program will bring MC’s expertise in multi-disciplinary, whole-person approach to learning among students in the region.

Envisioned to be “the home of the Creative Class,” innovative degree programs will be offered in the areas of creative and design industries. A first in Pampanga is MC Alviera’s Early Childhood Education program, aimed at addressing the diverse needs of young children.  For its graduate program, MC Alviera will have a Masters program in Curriculum and Teaching with a specialization in 21st Century Learning. Short programs like Digital Animation, which will cover the qualifications for 3D Animation, 3D Game Art Development, and Visual Graphics, will also be made available.

“We strongly feel that there is a fit between the Pampanga community and what Miriam College will offer. We recognize the local dynamics and see that the expanding economy in the area brings about a new market that we can serve in delivering our brand of education to Alviera,” said Miriam College President and former Ambassador Laura del Rosario.

Aside from Miriam College, another world-class institution like Pampanga’s very own Holy Angel University is set to open a new campus in the estate in 2024.

As Central Luzon emerges as one of the country’s growth powerhouse, master-planned estates like Alviera aims to support the region’s progress with the addition of educational, industrial and commercial hubs to drive the local economy. Property research and consultancy firm JLL forecasts that the provinces of Pampanga, Bulacan and Tarlac will experience growth in real estate and industrial development within the next three years—with Pampanga foreseen to be the next big thing in estate development.

Filipinos also look towards Region 3 for domestic migration—in Alviera alone, 3,000 residential units have been sold in total, with more than half of the buyers are potential end-users who are from Pampanga and northern areas of Metro Manila.

With its strategic location at the heart of Pampanga’s growth corridor, the 64-hectare Alviera Industrial Park has sold over 40 units in industrial lots, and is home to the country’s 1st quartz factory of the Badan Building Materials Corporation, whose in the business of engineered stones, as well as the robust production plant of global food and beverages manufacturing company, Monde Nissin.

Beyond these new developments, the Alviera Estate also has the 600-member strong Alviera Country Club, along with commercial and leisure developments that are expected to open in the estate’s East, Central and West Commercial Districts.
