TARLAC CITY — Governor Susan Yap clarified that no province-wide lockdown will be implemented in Tarlac.
In today’s episode of TarlaKAYAn hosted by Department of the Interior and Local Government, she clarified the circulating information regarding province-wide lockdown.
“There is no thought of lockdown for the whole province, although there may be granulized lockdown in some areas if it has been recommended by the Provincial Task Force,” Yap announced.
She said there is no endorsement of lockdown as the province starts to re-open its economy.
However, the official assured they are doubling the efforts to implement the minimum health protocols as prescribed by the National Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
“I have already assigned Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Labor and Employment to check the establishments and make sure they are complying to the health protocols,” she said.
Also, province-wide curfew is adjusted to 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM as requested by the city and municipal mayors.
Moreover, Yap said the capacity of COVID-19 facilities is still in control despite the rising number of cases in the province.
“I was alarmed recently that our facilities are reaching near full capacity but we have managed to assign them already,” she said.
Positive patients are assessed in Tarlac Provincial Hospital (TPH) and eventually designated in the different COVID-19 facilities.
TPH caters severe to critical condition; Enrique Henry M. Cojuangco Memorial District Hospital, La Paz Medicare, and Concepcion District Hospital caters to mild to moderate condition; and New Clark City Athletes’ Village caters to asymptomatic patients.
Nonetheless, she advised everyone to strictly follow the minimum health standards to prevent the further spread of the disease.
“Please continue following the health protocols such as wearing your face masks and face shields, observing physical distancing, and washing your hands frequently,” Yap concluded.
