Green Film Festival 2018

SM City Olongapo has kicked off another round of Green Film Festival(GFF) for 2018. This is one of the many programs of SM Cares, the CSR arm of SM Prime Holdings Inc., under the Environment Committee that aims to educate and raise awareness on the current state of environment and encourage positive action towards preserving the eco-system through the visual information campaign.

Through partnership with DepEd , students were gathered to experience a free film screening and had a glimpse of SM’s environment protection advocacy program .

Around 200 students from the various public elementary and high schools attended the educational screening about “Tayo ang Kalikasan”, “Tubbataha-Beyond Beauty”,”Tugunan ang Climate Change”, “Keep our Environment Healthy”, “Hangin ay Ingatan Tungo sa Malinis na Kalikasan”, NSWMC Solid Waste Management Communities”, ”Estero Mo’y Estero Ko”, and “Sustaining Eco-Friendly Schools in the Phils.”.

Chief CID Dep Ed, Olongapo Ariel C. Lansang in his speech expressed his thoughts about encouraging people to save the environment and to save Mother earth from uncaring people.

Green Film festival is a series of film festivals featuring environmentally-themed movies and station-produced documentaries.

 

Aside from GFF, SM Cares environment committee has other projects such as: the Trash to Cash recycling market held every first Friday and Saturday of the month; The Green Retail Agenda Forum for mall tenants, contractors, suppliers, students as well as communities and the use of SM Green Bag. (PR)
