Guv distributes machineries, livestocks to farmers

In a bid to modernize the agriculture industry and alleviate the lives of farmers in the Pampanga province, Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda led the distribution of machineries to a group of farmers and 40 live goats to 20 individuals on Wednesday at PEO Compound, Brgy. Sindalan, in this city.

In cooperation with the national government, through the Small Livelihood Program – Philippine Rural Development Project (SLP-PRDP), at least 12 farmer associations received a total of 89 farming equipment that they can utilize to leverage their farm production.

Governor Delta thanked the farmers for their usual support to his leadership and vowed to always prioritize the agricultural sector of the province.

“Bigyan na lang po natin ng pagpapahalaga ang mga programa ng national government gaya nito, at sana po ay makatulong ito sa inyong pang araw araw na kabuhayan,” he said.

He added that the Capitol has purchased the necessary equipment to help the farmers of the province and is always prepared to provide services that they can enjoy for free.

The farmer organization beneficiaries were:  San Juan Nepo Betis Farmers Association, 4 units of Hand Tractor with Complete Implements; La Paz Turu Upland Farmers Association, 4 Hand Tractors with Complete Implements and 2 Shallow Tube Wells; Cruzian Multi-Purpose Cooperative, 2 Rice Transplanters and 1 Mobilization Trailer; Cansinala South Farmers and Irrigators Association, 1 Rice Transplanter and 60 Knapsack Sprayers.

Also received machineries were Pampanga Seed Growers Multi-Purpose Cooperative that was given 2 Rice Transplanters; San Miguel Irrigators Association, 2 Rice Reapers; Floridablanca – Lubao Organic Farmers Association, 3 Wheelbarrows and 1 Multi-Purpose Tiller Cultivator; and Vizal San Pablo Irrigators Association, 5 Water Pumps.

While 20 individuals received two live goats each with the help of Provincial Veterinary Office headed by Dr. Augusto Baluyut.

Chairman Committee on Agriculture, Board Member Ananias Canlas, said he will continually support the farmers and assured to work closely on their needs.

“Bilang Chairman for the Agriculture sector ng probinsya, nandito po ako para puntahan kayo at makita firsthand ang inyong sitwasyon. Para mas malaman namin kung anong programa at serbisyong kailangan ninyo,” he said.
