Hizon for Governor?

Is it true that Rep. Rimpy Bondoc (4rth District-Pamp) had withdrawn from his plan to wrestle the gubernatorial post
from the Pineda political clan?

This political vacuum will leave the lone political opposition Bacolor Mayor Joemar Hizon the possible candidate for the gubernatorial post. With all probability, Hizon will clash head-on with Vice Governor Dennis Pineda who was eyeing the gubernatorial post that will be vacated by his mother – Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda.

Hizon clashed with the Pineda-backed Buddy Dungca in the last mayoral election in Bacolor town winning by a margin of 110 votes. Hizon got 17,834 votes while Dungca posted 17,724 votes. Not all Pineda-backed candidates won in the last polls, an indication the Pinedas do not have the “political clout” to determine the outcome of the polls.

Hizon has described his political victory against Dungca as the “most difficult fight” of his life.

This early, Hizon is now being groomed for the gubernatorial post and he might cross the bridge when he get there.

With Bondoc out of the gubernatorial bandwagon, Hizon is the best possible candidate against the Pinedas. When the bell rings, it will be a matter of destiny for Hizon who will face the 2nd most difficult fight of his life.

Hizon is a relative of General Maximino Hizon, the highest ranking Kapampangan leader in the revolutionary army during the war against Spain and United States.
