In SM Tarlac, Christmas-Giving isn’t over yet

Still merry in January, SM City Tarlac continues to celebrate the season of gift-giving by distributing a total of collected 700 SM Bears of Joy to its chosen beneficiaries.

The SM Bears of Joy is an annual charity project of SM Cares, SM Supermalls and Toy Kingdom which aims to offer shoppers the opportunity to share their blessings and bring smiles to children’s faces despite their busy holiday schedules. As customers purchase SM Bears of Joy, they get two bears for only Php200 – that’s one for them to keep and the other to be donated on their discretion.

Happiness in the air, students of Paquilliao Elementary School played throw and catch with their new huggable bears.

“We are happy that our school is chosen by SM as its beneficiary for the SM Bears of Joy”, said Mr. William A. Cawigan, Head Teacher I of Paquilliao Elementary School.

The pupils were all smiles as they received their SM bears. The advisers were also very happy for their respective pupils. They took photos and selfies while the pupils raised and instantly played with their new fluffy, huggable toys. After the gift-giving, the students along with the teachers and SM volunteers sealed the happy moment with the famous “Tala” dance.

Aside from Paquilliao Elementary School, the DSWD Amor Village and Rehoboth Children’s Home Inc. along with other children in Brgy. Sta Maria, Camiling were also chosen as beneficiaries.

This sharing of “bears of joy” would not be possible without the participation of the SM shoppers who especially purchased these bears to be donated to the chosen beneficiaries. SM started selling these bears on October and ended on December 2019. Indeed, sharing is made easier through this SM Bears of Joy project.
