An inmate at the Zambales Provincial Jail located in Bgy. Palanginan, Iba has escaped.
The escapee was identified as Ronnel Rayman, 33, of Purok 1, Bgy. Bangantalinga, Iba, Zambales.
Prison Guard Ermin Gene Orencia, 50, of Zone 5, Iba, Zambales, informed the Zambales police of the incident.
Initial investigation revealed that on Thursday, Rayman and another detainee were allowed by prison guards Freddie Dacanay and Kimberly Español, Lady Ann Bautista to repair the leak of a pipe at the jail’s rooftop.
Minutes later, Orencia ordered the two detainees to stop the repair and come down the rooftop.
However, instead of obeying, Rayman jumped over the wired concrete fence, landing in the premises of the Department of Agrarian Reform building then fled on foot.
Authorities are now hunting down Rayman to rearrest him.
