Inton distributes DOLE’s Nego-Kart Project

Hermosa Mayor Jopet Inton on Tuesday led the distribution of “Padyak para sa Kabuhayan” or Nego-Kart Project at the Hermosa Covered Court, Hermosa, Bataan.

The project is a collaboration between the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Senator JV Ejercito.

Mayor Inton said the aim of the program is to support the citizens of Hermosa and provide them with their own livelihood.

“This is a step towards having sufficient income and development for the people of Hermosa,” he added.

The Nego-Kart is a project of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) that aims to assist ambulant vendors in making their business more sustainable. Each mobile vending station costs at least P20,000. It has been a department staple even before the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic struck in 2020.

Present at the event were DOLE Assistant Regional Director Alex Inza Cruz, DOLE Provincial Director Leilanie Reynoso, Municipality of Hermosa PESO Dept. Head Ofelia Datu and Municipal Councilor Jason Enriquez.

Mayor Inton assured that they will continue to cooperate in such projects for the benefit of their citizens. He encouraged everyone to participate in “padyak” for a better future.

Mayor Inton expressed his gratitude to Senator JV Ejercito for his support. “Thank you very much Senator JV Ejercito, long live!” he said. (MHIKE CIGARAL)
