The Philippine government is eyeing the use of a Japanese anti-flu drug for treating COVID-19 patients, the Department of Health said on Monday.

Health Undersecretary Eric Domingo said in an interview that the medication is ‘very promising’ in treating viral diseases as it yields a positive response on patients.

Meanwhile, the Food and Drug Administration said the drug Avigan is not yet produced commercially.
