A Japanese national was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Angeles City on August 24, 2019.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron N. Aquino identified the suspect as Kubota Atsushi, 48 years old, resident of Ishigaki, Okinawa, Japan, who was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted at around 12:15 AM by joint elements of PDEA Regional Office III (PDEA RO III) under the supervision of Director Lyndon P. Aspacio, and local police along Magalang Road, Purok 4, Barangay Pandan, Angeles City, Pampanga.
Confiscated during the operation were seven pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, weighing more or less 10 grams, with an estimated value of Php68,000.00, and the buy-bust money.
Atsushi will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and section 15 (Use of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
