Job fair for livelihood of Kapampangans launched

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in partnership with Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the provincial government conducted on May 1 a job fair to celebrate the first Labor Day under the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duerte held at Trade Hall SM City Pampanga, here.

Dubbed as “Matatag na Kabuhayan at Trabaho tungo sa Progresibong Pagbabago”, the job fair aims to provide livelihood and opportunities to Kapampangans to improve their current condition and bring hope in their lives.

According to Alex Ianze, DTI officer said the agency offers business opportunities that include training, counseling and information dissemination.

He also mentioned that DTI will support small time Kapampangan entrepreneurs who want to venture into business.

Applicants aged 50 years-old and above were also given job opportunities suitable to their interest and skills.

Thousands of applicants attended the job fair and some were hired on the spot.

The job fair was also sponsored by SM Super Malls, Job Street and ABS-CBN. –CANDY MANALILI
