In a significant move towards empowering women and fostering gender equality, the Angeles City government, in partnership with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), officially launched the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) Angeles City Chapter. The initiative aims to combat violence against women and children (VAWC) and promote inclusive community development.
The launch was spearheaded by Congressman Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II, Vice Mayor Vicky Vega, City Councilors JC Parker Aguas, Raco Del Rosario, and SK Federation President Richard Gaza. Joining them was Ms. Edna L. Duaso, RSW, Angeles City’s Social Welfare and Development Officer.
Congressman Lazatin emphasized his unwavering commitment to upholding women’s rights, ensuring safe spaces, and advocating for equal opportunities. “Through KALIPI, we aim to strengthen women’s roles in building a progressive and inclusive society,” he said.
KALIPI is set to provide women with access to programs that address critical issues such as violence, economic empowerment, and leadership development. It also aligns with the city’s broader goals of fostering safe and equitable communities.
The initiative reflects Angeles City’s determination to champion women’s rights and end violence, ensuring brighter futures for families and communities.
