Alleged drug lord Rolan “Kerwin” Espinosa is set to arrive in the country by Thursday, according to Philippine National Police Chief Ronald Dela Rosa.
Dela Rosa told newsmen that Espinosa, son of recently slain Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa, has already been fetched by authorities in Abu Dhabi.
Kerwin, who was arrested on Oct. 17, is presently under the custody of Abu Dhabi authorities.
According to Dela Rosa, Kerwin will be taken to Camp Crame as soon as he arrives in the country.
Dela Rosa said they will follow the normal procedures, except that Kerwin will not be taken to the issuing court in Leyte.
“Dito na lang sa Crame muna,” he told newsmen in a briefing.
The Department of Justice (DOJ), Dela Rosa said, had also asked the PNP to have Kerwin under their custody, but the PNP higher ups have yet to discuss the matter.
Dela Rosa also assured that Kerwin “will not die”, saying he will prove true to his word that “nothing will happen” to Espinosa.
