ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. has vowed to improve the delivery of health services at the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC) to cater the needs of his constituents.
The Department of Health (DOH)-Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) has funded the expansion of the Emergency Room (ER), Laboratory, and Blood bank of the RLMMC, formerly known as Ospital Ning Angeles (ONA).
According to Mayor Lazatin, this is just the beginning of the improvements at the said hospital.
“Ito po ang tuloy-tuloy na hakbang sa pagsasaayos ng ospital natin. Pakiusap po sa mga nars at doktor na ayusin po natin,” he appealed.
Lazatin said one of his campaign promises is to provide better access to public health services.
In fact, he added, the Angeles City Government had revitalized the Rural Health Units (RHUs) by ordering Doctors and RHU staff to make themselves available at their respective units.
“This will make health services more efficient and accessible to the people. Ito po ay umpisa pa lamang ng mga programang pangkalusugan ng syudad ng Angeles,” he said.
Moreover, the Mayor also shared that he will be allotting a P200-million budget for the hospital.
“Baka po next year papagawa po tayong bagong building para madagdagan ang bed capacity natin dito sa ONA. Marami pa po tayong aabangan na proyekto na gagawin para ayusin ito,” he stressed.
The Mayor then thanked the DOH for their support to the hospital, as well as the hospital staff and doctors for their hard work.
DOH-HFEP Architect Gino Paulo Lugtu said, “We are very happy to give this to Angeles City, para po makatulong sa lahat.”
