Bookworms and spa aficionados can now enjoy the satisfaction of reading and wellness at the Library Spa and Nail Salon (LSNS), the first library-inspired spa in the Philippines.
“Me and my husband Roumel Arevalo love going to spas until early last year we have decided to open our own then we incorporated our main business (books) so we came up with a library spa,” owner Maria Teresa Santos Arevalo said.
This two-month old 50-square meter wellness hub gives a tip-off on their wide array of genres of book to chew and digest while on a pamper session.
Arevalo, 32, niece of the late veteran journalist and pioneer of Pampanga Press Club Gregorio Sangil and a proud native of Angeles City also owns the S & A Learning Solutions. Established in August 2011, they distribute high quality, affordable and up-to-date references, encyclopedias, e-books, reprinted titles, trade titles for Sytems Plus College Foundation, Angeles University Foundation, Holy Angel University, Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University, University of the Assumption and Jose C. Feliciano College Foundation, Tarlac State University, Columban College in Olongapo City, University of Pangasinan, Lyceum Subic Bay, Wesleyan University- Philippines in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology.
“Here at the LSNS, we have books for the kids, references and fictions for students and young professionals while they are enjoying our spa services. Also, we are looking forward on having Kapampangan books here in coordination with the Center for Kapampangan Studies President Robby Tantingco,” Arevalo added.
Aside from their will of upholding the value of reading and the love for books, LSNS caters signature spa sets which promote nail care and wellness in accord with the international standards. Their menu is conceptualized and named after fiction books or characters like the Christian Grey Hydrating and Energizing Spa, Katniss Evergreen Anti-Aging and Revitalizing Hand Spa and the Hunger Games Detoxifying and Wellness Foot Spa.
Arevalo also disclosed that what separates them from the rest is they use Epsom Salt as raw ingredient for spa which eases stress and relaxes the body, relieves pain and muscle cramps, helps muscles and nerves function properly, helps prevent hardening of arteries and blood clots, and eliminates toxins from the body. Epsom salt, named for a bitter saline spring at Epsom in Surrey, England, is not actually salt but a naturally occurring pure mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate.
