CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Lubao town was adjudged as having the Most Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) in Pampanga for its effective implementation of health and nutrition-related programs.
Provincial Committee on Health Chairperson and Second District Board Member Joseph Anthony Torres expressed the importance of providing support to Kabalens in promoting health care.
“It is important that our health workers at the grassroots gain knowledge on how to have a good nutrition because it is the foundation of a good health,” Torres said.
Meanwhile, Sasmuan and Guagua emerged as second and third placers, respectively. The towns of Mexico, Magalang, San Simon, Bacolor, Candaba and Arayat were also cited for their respective programs.
For the most outstanding nutrition action officer, Rita Magsino of Lubao town was recognized, while Nilo Paguio of Barangay Sto. Cristo in Lubao town was cited as the Most Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar and Barangay Sto. Cristo as the Most Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Committee.
All winners received cash prizes which they can use to fund their health and nutrition-related programs. (PIA 3)
