TARLAC CITY — A tree planting and tree parenting activity in barangay Banaoang West, Moncada town kicked off this year’s celebration of Cooperative Month in Tarlac.
“It aims to recognize the significant role of cooperatives in the development of our province and strengthen them through various activities that will benefit not only the members but the community as well,” Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO) Head Marvi dela Cruz said.
This year’s Cooperative Month celebration carries the theme “Cooperatives: Partners for Building Resilient and Empowered Communities towards Better and Stronger Philippines.”
“The provincial government is keen in supporting cooperative sectors by providing programs as such free trainings and seminars, credit facilitation program, credit security fund and cooperative entrepreneurship,” dela Cruz added.
Other activities PCEDO lined up include blood-letting, outreach, hygiene kit giving and Gawad Tarlakenyo awarding. (PIA 3)
