President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force to extend the Luzon-wide lockdown until 11:59p.m. of April 30, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles confirmed Monday.
As more than 57 million people in Luzon region remain locked under enhanced community quarantine, the president feared the P270 billion funding to aid the poorest of the poor for two months is not enough.
“Hindi ko alam kung kailan ako makahatid ng pagkain sa lahat. Hindi ko alam kung saan ako magkuha ng ng pera. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang ipagbili ko kung may magbibili,” Duterte said during his late night interview on Sunday.
“Ano solution? Wag kang mahawa. Papaano po? Magstay ka sa bahay. Paano pagkain namin? Maghanap ka ng paraan,” he added.
Currently, the Health Department holds record of 3,660 cases of COVID-19, 163 fatalities and 73 recoveries.
