CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police gunned down Monday a suspected peddler of illegal drugs who is included in the police watchlist of personalities involved in the prohibited drug trade, during raid along Roxas Street, Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City.
Andrei Duenas Amurao succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds when shot at point blank range by members of the raiding team from the Mabalacat City police led by Supt. Maharlika Villasis.
Sources said the suspect voluntarily surrendered to lawmen when cornered inside his house early afternoon during the buy bust on January 28.
Amurao, according to a police report, almost aborted the drug deal after he sensed the presence of undercover cops surrounding the area. The suspect ran inside his house but was pursued by lawmen until he was cornered.
Police said the suspect was killed during an exchange of gunfire.
Recovered from the scene includes a caliber .38 revolver and pieces of spent shells from different kinds of handguns.
Police also found 19 sachets of shabu, dusted money used in the buy bust from the slain suspect, a digital weighing scale and other illegal drugs paraphernalia.
