Mabalacat transport group grateful to Mayor Lazatin, City Council

MEMBERS OF the 2,000-strong Mabalacat City Transport Federation (MCTF) have expressed their gratitude to Angeles Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. and the Sangguniang Panlungsod for allotting an area for their terminal near the Angeles Bayanihan Park during an interview with Mabalacat Mayorable Deng Pangilinan.

Joseph Gamboa, chairman of the Mabalacat City Transport Federation, said the assistance of Mayor Lazatin allowed members of the transport group to continue their source of livelihood amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gamboa also thanked Vice Mayor Vicky Vega and members of the City Council particularly

Councilor Alfie Bonifacio, chairman of the committee on transportation, and the principal author and sponsor of said resolutions, and chief Feliciano M Jerome of the Angeles City Public Transportation Regulatory Office for assisting their members.

“Malaki po ang tulong na naibigay ni Mayor Lazatin at Councilor Bonifacio para sa mga outside city limit na jeepney drivers,” according to Gamboa.

Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs) plying the routes to Concepcion, Capas, Bamban, Sta. Lucia, Madapdap, Angeles-Mabalacat, and Angeles-Dau are now utilizing the Angeles Terminal.

Gamboa also thanked the Angeles LGU for extending its vaccination program to members of the transport group and the rice donations through the help of PASADA.

Gamboa also cited the removal of the P1,000 per month terminal fee and P50 per trip fee being charged by the SM management before.

Through the help of Mayor Lazatin and Councilor Bonifacio, the exorbitant fees had been waived and each PUJ driver is now only paying P20 per day (unlimited trip).
