Major facilities to become quarantine sites in fight vs COVID-19

Major facilities in National Capital Region will be converted to instant hospitals to effectively control the spread of the new coronavirus or COVID-19 as infections and deaths continue to increase each day.

Among these major facilities in Manila include the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex-Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila City, the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Forum Halls and the World Trade Center.

“We have identified these three with the help of Department of Health,” said Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar.

The three facilities in Manila are expected to house 936 patients. The quarantine facilities are expected to reduce the spread of COVID-19, decongest hospitals in Metro Manila and to save patients at the first stages of the disease and protect the frontliners.

The quarantine facilities will have airconditioned cubicles, free food, free wifi, and 24/7 monitoring by doctors and nurses.
