The Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines Inc. (ALSWDOPI) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) bestowed to Mayor Christian D. Natividad of the City of Malolos, Bulacan the Most Outstanding Local Chief Executive of the Philippines and “Hall of Fame” Award during the 22th ALSWDOPI 2018 Gawad Parangal held recently at the Crown Legacy Hotel in Baguio City.
Natividad first received the same award in 2016 and 2017 and was now Hall of Fame Awardee for receiving it for the third time.
He was cited for his “high performance and excellent service” in his eight years as chief executive of the city.
He was also credited with pursuing accessible database management for administrative, social, economic, environmental and valuing fundamentals of governance that encourage open convergence among stakeholders that resulted in improved local government management and operations especially in social services.
A “demand driven and results-oriented” type of governance continuously pursued by the young mayor of Malolos which earned him as the “Champion of Masses”.
Among Mayor Natividad’s accomplishments are People’s Partnership, they tap NGO’s, private organization and even international clubs like the Rotary Club and cooperatives for funding and technical support; Strong Educational Support, where he has given special attention to the youth. They constructed a high school in every 3 barangays and elementary school in every barangay making education accessible.
He also provides intensive interventions to children conflict with the law (CICL) and children at risk (CAR); accredited 57-daycare centers in 51 barangays with 53 permanent daycare workers; Gulong ng Karunungan and additional P100,000 to all centenarians.
A son of well-known assemblyman, the original “Agila ng Bulacan”, the late Cong. Teodulo “Teddy” Natividad and a pre-school teacher Matilde “Baby” Dionisio. –ELOISA SILVERIO
