‘Manyaman Festival’ opens at SM Pampanga

Some 20 food booths featuring popular Kapampangan dishes and desserts have graced the Manyaman Festival Food Expo at the SM Pampanga on Monday morning.
The Manyaman Food Festival has sought to promote the popular Kapampangan dishes that made Pampanga province as the country’s “Culinary Capital of the Philippines.”

Pampanga Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab said the first thing that local and foreign visitors ask for in a certain place is “food.” Pampanga province has a lot to offer when it comes to food because the Kapampangans are known for their culinary skills.

Kapampangan chefs and even the ethnic Aetas whipped out popular Kapampangan and native dishes and followed authentic culinary procedures without embellishing them. The famous “sisig” (pork face with chicken liver sauted in lime juice and pepper) will be presented in its purest form, according to BM Pineda-Cayabyab.
BM Pineda-Cayabyab urged Kapampangans and non-Kapampangans to visit the booths at SM Pampanga where Manyaman Festival Food Expo will feature the famous dished until December 6, 2023.

The first-ever Manyaman Food Festival showcases the innate culinary expertise of the Kapampangans.

“Masarap lahat, busog na busog kami,” according to Pampanga Gov. Dennis Pineda.

Meanwhile, the Pampanga Capitol said the best booths will receive cash prizes. 1st Prize will get P20,000; 2nd prize (P15,000); and 3rd Prize (P10,000). A consolation prize of P5,000 will be awarded to seven lucky winners.

For the booth attendants with the best Christmas costumes, the 1st Prize will get P10,000; 2nd Prize (P7,000); and 3rd Prize (P5,000).
