Mariveles LGUs cited for Most Functional LCPC

BALANGA CITY – The Municipality of Mariveles once again proved to be the best place to live for children in the province as it was cited today to have the Most Functional Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC).

LCPC is a council organized at the provicial, city, municipal and barangay levels that serves as the umbrella organization for all children’s concerns.

The DILG facilitates and provides Technical Assistance in the organization of LCPC and spearheads the monitoring the functionality of LCPCs at all levels.

In a report from PIA-Bataan, Mariveles Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion said the key to sustaining the child-friendly status is to provide inclusive support to families which will ultimately benefit children, and forge partnerships with developmental organizations.

Two barangays (villages) of Mariveles—Batangas II and Baseco—including Santa Lucia of Samal town also won as Most Outstanding LCPC for the barangay level.

The annual Provincial/City/Municipal Councils for the Protection of Children was held Thursday in this city and was organized by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.
