MARIVELES, Bataan (PIA) — Municipal government of Mariveles will give PhP1,500 to every household that will not receive the Emergency Subsidy Program (ESP) of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Mayor Jocelyn Castañeda said they aim to provide about 28,701 non-ESP beneficiaries with financial aid for the household’s other expenses and needs of the family.
“Based on the latest data sent to us by DSWD, only 17,442 households out of 46,143 actual number of households here in Mariveles, which is based on the quarantine pass provided, will be provided with the cash assistance from the national government,” Castañeda revealed.
The local chief executive extended her empathy to constituents who are all affected by the implemented Enhanced Community Quarantine due to the threats posed by the coronavirus disease.
“As a mother, I feel that you all have your needs. Our town may not be as rich as other cities but if we can provide, we will not deprive you with the assistance you deserve,” she said.
Moreover, municipal government is continuously distributing the 2nd wave of relief goods to all households in the 18 barangays of the town.
“We are also waiting for sacks of rice, 25 kilos each sack, for all households in our town to be provided by our provincial government under the leadership of Governor Albert Raymond Garcia,” Castañeda furthered.
