Marriott’s Virtual Run Helps the Filipino Children

Marriott Worldwide Business Councils (MWBC) Philippines holds yet another Run To Give, and for the second time around, virtually. This year, all Marriott properties in the Philippines – Clark Marriott, Manila Marriott, Sheraton Manila, Sheraton Manila Bay, Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo, and two new properties that are soon to open—Sheraton Cebu Mactan and Four Points by Sheraton Puerto Princesa Palawan – virtually come together to run with a bold attempt to generate one million pesos for the Marriott Associate Welfare Fund and its partner beneficiary, the Save The Children Philippines. Last year, P400,000 were raised to support Save the Children Philippines and help grant access for children to quality education, improve their health, and to protect their rights.

Among the participant’s during the Run To Gove 2019 were Lovi Poe, General Manager Anna Vergara of Sheraton Manila, Multi-property Vice President Bruce Winton, MWBC Chairman and General Manager Goeran Soelter of Clark Marriott, and CJ Javarata.

Run To Give (RTG) is a Marriott International-initiated charity run that is simultaneously conducted in Asia Pacific as part of its Take Care programs. While it may be true that the pandemic have been holding the world captive from its routine, like marathons and meets having been canceled indefinitely; the MWBC Philippines continues to pursue ways to extend help in best ways it can, thus, the Virtual RTG.

Anyone interested may sign up to complete a total mileage and select among  100 km, 200 km, or 300 km. Participate whenever, wherever, and however you want because it is not only limited to running. You can hike, bike or even swim at your own pace and at your most convenient time and place. The world is your race track. Register and help reach the 40,040km goal in 40 days. This virtual run gives you the flexibility and freedom to enjoy the race and help the community at the same time. Record your progress by connecting to the Strava app. The Virtual RTG is until December 3. Runners may register through www.marriottvirtualruntogiveph.raisely.com. Registration starts at P500. An e-certificate of completion will be received at the end of each challenge. A souvenir shirt and finisher’s medal may also be availed with an add-on cost.

You would like to help but no time to run? You may choose to either donate directly to MWBC Philippines’ chosen beneficiaries or sponsor a participant and take an exclusive part in its charity initiative.
