Megawide to join Philconstruct Expo in Clark

Innovative engineering and infrastructure conglomerate Megawide Construction Corporation (Megawide) is showcasing its engineering technologies in the Philconstruct Luzon Expo from March 28-30.
Dubbed the largest construction show in the Philippines, Philconstruct will be held in the ASEAN Convention Center in the Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

First-world engineering technologies
Megawide will exhibit four of the company’s first-world engineering technologies: Precast, Concrete Batching, Formworks, and Construction Equipment and Logistics Services (CELS).

“Megawide’s strength as an EPC contractor is its seamless integration of construction methodologies with first-world technologies,” said Markus Hennig, Megawide EVP for Strategic Business Units. “This enables us to deliver competitive, end-to-end packaged EPC services for our clients.”

Megawide predominantly uses Japanese and European technologies. Its precast plant, which uses Japanese technology, was the first and remains one of the most advanced of its kind in South East Asia. Megawide also introduced the use of glued-laminated (glulam) timber from Austria for the iconic roof structure of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA). MCIA is the first Asian airport to have a full roof structure made out of glulam timber.

Glulam is now being used to build the mountain-inspired roof arches of the Clark International Airport (CIA) with Megawide as EPC contractor. These, along with other technologies now being used in the CIA project, will be among the highlights of the company’s Philconstruct exhibit in Clark.

“Our company’s motivation is clear. We are engineering a first-world Philippines, and so we strive to discover and use first-world technologies and methodologies that deliver added value for our projects and clients,” said Hennig.

Expanding partnerships outside Metro Manila
With Megawide’s EPC projects expanding outside of Metro Manila, particularly Central Luzon and Cebu, the company is keen to widen its network of partners. “Philconstruct provides the ideal opportunity to present what Megawide stands for and what it does to peers in engineering and construction. We welcome partners who share the same passion for innovative, first-world engineering, and we hope to find them in Clark,” encouraged Hennig.

Megawide pioneered the use of precast technology in the Philippines, even opening its own precast plant in Taytay, Rizal in 2012. The plant has since evolved into the Megawide Industrial Complex which now houses all the Megawide technologies in one location to promote synergy between the units.

The Megawide Booth is located at (booth location) in the Philconstruct Luzon Expo from March 28-30.
