The Mutya Ning Angeles 2022 will hold its pre-pageant on Nov. 26 at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.
Seen in photos are the 18 official candidates of MNA 2022 who confidently show off the locally-made accessories created from harvested binggala beads of the Aeta community in Barangay Sapangbato here.
Some 90 kilos of harvested beads were personally bought by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. and MNA Committee Chairpersons Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and Chief Adviser IC Calaguas.
The said beads will also soon be available at the One Town, One Product store of the city government.
“This is part of the project of Mayor Lazatin to help the Aeta community, personal po naming binili yung mga harvested beads from them,” Calaguas said.
Manuel said one of the objectives of the MNA is the continuous promotion of Gawang Angeleño products.
The bead necklaces were designed and made by the creative minds of Frederick Policarpio and Cholo Ayuyao.
Apart from this, the wardrobe of the candidates, from gowns, swimwear and shoes, will also be locally made.
The gowns will be produced by 13 local designers, while the shoes will be made by Bong Gonzales.
“From just mere beads to creative accessories,” Lazatin said. “Congratulations to our MNA Committee and our local designers.”
