Morales files CoC for vice mayor

Former Mabalacat City Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales filed his certificate of candidacy for city vice mayor before the Commission on Elections at the Xevera City Hall on Tuesday.

Morales, who served as the city’s mayor for 21 years, will run under former President-turned-Pampanga Representative Gloria Arroyo’s Lakas-CMD political party.

“I have served for 21 years as mayor, it’s time to give a chance to others,” Morales said when asked why he opted to run for vice mayor in the upcoming elections.

Morales is a guest candidate in incumbent Vice Mayor Christian Halili’s slate. Halili is running for city mayor under President Rodrigo Duterte’s political party Partido Federalismo ng Pilipinas.

Joining them in what they call “Team Caluguran ku Mabalacat,” are re-electionist councilors Dwight Morales, Jerry Basilio, Jeng Yumul, Eddie Soto, Dan Bayani, and Carlo Rivera; come-backing councilor Froylan Galang; and neophytes Noel Castro, Timmy Dee and Gerry Magsino.
