The indignant mother of a 31-year-old Filipina waitress killed in Oman urged the Omani authorities to resolve the case of her daughter.
Mrs. Alice Pamittan has recently visited Oman where she met Royal Oman Police officers handling the case of her daughter Pinky Pamittan, who was strangled to death.
An Indian co-worker at the Qurun Hotel in Muscat, Oman was tagged behind the slaying of Pamittan.
The Omani police said the Indian man beat and strangled her before he threw the body near a riverbed behind Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque.
Mrs. Pamittan has also visited Pinky’s flat which she shared with other co-workers.
Philippine Ambassador to Oman Narciso T. Castaneda received Mrs. Pamittan at the Philippine Embassy in Muscat recently. Castaneda has vowed to coordinate with Omani authorities to resolve the case.
Pamittan’s death was also referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
