Nanay to Kapampangans: Show concern for Pampanga

Pampanga Vice Governor Lilia “Baby” Pineda congratulated the newly-elected officers of the Pampanga Press Club (PPC), who were sworn into office Monday by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda.

As Nanay welcomed the PPC in her office, she appealed for Kapampangans to show concern for Pampanga and each other.

“Nung daya kang Kapampangan pagmalasakitan me ing kekang probinsya.”, she exclaimed.

The vice governor expressed concern amid negative issues surrounding SEA Games, but said it is in these times that Kapampangans should stand alongside each other and highlight what we are known for.

Nanay prides Pampanga for being the home of hospitable and caring people. “Pampanga is province kung saan likas na maasikaso ang tao.”  She added that recently, a mayor from Agusan Del Sur who visited her lauded Pampanga and even said he is envious “because in Pampanga, you can find progressive cities, very good revenues and reputable universities, among other things.”

Addressing newly-elected Pampanga Press Club president Tonette Orejas, Nanay called on the media to continue to support projects like the Clark airport, whose 2nd terminal is set for completion in 2020, and to promote activities like the ongoing SEA Games and more.

“Dahil po sa SEA Games, nag-boom na naman ang turismo sa Pampanga. Hindi lang mga atleta ang dumayo dito sa atin  kundi pati mga kamag-anak at mga kaibigan nila para sumuporta.”
