New Pampanga Gov calls for unity

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Governor Dennis G. Pineda on Saturday called on all elected officials, sectoral groups and citizens to unite and cooperate with his programs to be able to make Pampanga a much safer, peaceful and more progressive province.

“Ang lahat ng ito po ay maisasakatuparan sa pagkakaisa, sa pagbabayanihan nating lahat, ng mga kaibigan nating congressmen, Vice Governor Nanay, mga board memners, mayors, vice mayors, mga konsehal, pati na rin ang mga barangay at SK officiala, iba-ibang sangay ng gobyerno, business sector, hanggang sa mga mamamayan sa komunidad,” the governor said during the mass oathtaking ceremonies held at LausGroup Event Centre here.

Pineda, who is the 14th elected governor of Pampanga, vowed to continue the quality services that his mother, now Vice Governor Lilia G. Pineda, brought to the provincial government in her nine years in office as governor.

He also considered it a big challenge as well as honor to continue his mother’s legacy.

His administration would continue to upgrade the capacities of Pampanga residents to prepare for disasters, make tourism a thriving industry while advocating for modern and sustainable agriulture.

Pineda said the focus on the province’s economic development will be guided by the Pampanga Megalopolis Plan, which was drafted at the initiative of House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, former President.

His vision for Pampanga is “mas ligtas, mapayapa at maunlad na probinsya.”
