“We’re excited to bring Nono’s to San Fernando, which is the biggest and first branch in Northern Luzon, and share our love for comfort food with this wonderful community,” said Nono’s owner Chef Baba Ibazeta-Benedicto,. “Our goal is to create a place where people can come together, enjoy great food, and make lasting memories.”
This success story all began when Chef Baba opened her bakeshop Classic Confections. In 2016, she partnered with The Table Group to put up a full-service restaurant featuring the desserts she had at Classic Confections. After trying out a few menus with easy-to-make dishes, she saw an opportunity to make the project more personal, so they shifted to creating a concept that’s centered around comfort food that reminded her of her childhood.
It began with a slice of cake. Chef Baba has built a loyal following over the years for her delicious, classic desserts at the successful Classic Confections. With the success of her famous Nono’s Chocolate Oblivion, named after her father, Chef Baba now brings to life her passion for delicious comfort food with Nono’s. From western staples to local favorites, Nono’s is all about doing comfort food right. The Homestyle Fried Chicken, for example, has become a favorite of diners and foodies alike because of their unique and delicious take on this comfort food classic. By serving its juicy and crispy chicken thigh fillet with house-made crispy and flaky waffles, they’ve created their own distinct take on the beloved Chicken and Waffles, adding to their growing menu of delectable comfort food offerings.
“Comfort food is simple. It is heartwarming. It is nourishing. It is home. It is full of happy memories with loved ones,” Chef Baba added.
Nono’s opened its first branch at UP Town Center in April 2017. Today, they have 23 locations, including the newest Laus branch, across the Philippines. These are located in Metro Manila and nearby provinces like Laguna and Cavite.
The first 50 guests received exclusive gift bags filled with Nono’s specialties (Sliced cake, truffle cheese wantons, pizza of your choice (3 best sellers), a gesture that was warmly received by the enthusiastic crowd. Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed a host of activities and tasted some of the restaurant’s signature dishes.
Located at the bustling Laus Event Centre Boulevard, it is easily accessible and poised to become a culinary hotspot. The restaurant operates daily from 6:30AM to 11:00 PM, catering to breakfast, lunch, and dinner crowds.
