Notorius drug peddler, 5 others arrested in Zambales

Camp Olivas — A high value target (HVT) and his five cohorts were arrested on Wednesday in an anti-illegal drug operation in Iba, Zambales.

Zambales Provincial Police Director Col. Romano Cardinio identified the suspects as Reynante Patano, 50,  a HVT and member of notorious “Buela” drug group; Mark Kevin Calimlim, 25; Romnic Gomez, 39; Arturo Gomez, 54; Prima Sumanpil, 44; and Ronielyn Soriano, 32,  all residents of Bgy.  Sta. Barbara, Iba, Zambales.

Cardinio said the suspects were arrested in a raid conducted by members of the Iba police  at a drug den in Gomez Compound Prk.4, Bgy. Sta. Barbara, Iba, and confiscated 22 plastic sachets containing shabu valued at  
P50,000; three plastic sachets of marijuana P3,000; one .22 Armscor pistol; 50 pieces of .22 live bullets; 26 pieces of air gun pellets; and P1, 000 marked money.

All the suspects will be charged with violation of R.A.9165 Sec. 5, 11, 12 and 14 and RA 10591 (Illegal possession of firearm and ammunition).

“With the constant arrest and neutralization of illegal drug personalities in the area as well as the unremitting commitment of the police to stop its proliferation, illegal drug traders will have less opportunity to propagate illegal drugs,” said PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon.
