NPC prexy tells scribes to avoid ‘partisan politics’

BONGABON, Nueva Ecija — National Press Club President Paul Gutierrez has encouraged members of the Central Luzon Media Association (CLMA) to refrain from engaging in “partisan politics” amid the upcoming 2022 elections.

Partisan politics result to violence, according to Gutierrez, who inducted the new set of officers of the CLMA at the Sevilla’s Paradise Resort in Brgy Labi, Bongabon, Nueva Ecija on Friday.

Gutierrez said engaging in partisan politics divides members of the media. “Tayo tayo mismo nasisira ang unity because of political reasons. Let us be more anxious, the more na nagiging partisan napapahamak ang ating credibility.”

Gutierrez told CLMA members that partisan politics often end in “violence.”

“Nagreresulta ito sa violence. Mabuti kung pinadalhan ka ng subpeona, e kung pinadala hitman,” said Gutierrez.

Amid the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, “We must play our role,” said Gutierrez.
