ORANI, BATAAN – A 40-footer container van containing hundreds of books arrived yesterday in this town.
“Basta taga Orani” Facebook fan page post stated the books came from Children International of the 1-AASENSO PINOY INC. in support for their “Aklat Para sa Kabataan Program” led by Miss Suzette Recto.
“This is free of charge. We spent nothing from the municipal government,” the FB page said in Filipino.
Municipal Mayor Efren “Bondjong” Pascual, Jr., Department of Education District Supervisor Francis Bautista together with Mr. Rene and Vic Santos helped together to make the project possible.
Children International is a nonprofit, humanitarian organization dedicated to alleviating the burdens and effects of poverty on Filipino children. 1 Aasenso Pinoy Inc. is a non-government organization affiliated with global association Children International.
“Ito ay napakalaking tulong dahil na rin sa programa ng ating bayan sa pagtataas ng antas at kalidad ng edukasyon sa ating mga mag-aaral. Isang pakinabang ng mas nakararami nating mga kababayan na tiyak na magbibigay ng magandang resulta para sa ating bayan,’’ Pascual said. –Mhike R. Cigaral
