P1.19M shabu seized; two arrested in AC

ANGELES CITY – At least 175 grams of shabu worth P1,190,000 had been confiscated during a buy bust operation that also led to the arrest of two suspects in Barangay Pulung Maragul, Angeles City on Friday evening.

PCol. Joyce Patrick B. Sangalang, City Director of the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) identified the two suspects as Eduardo Mercado, 39 years old, married, male, jobless and a resident of Sitio Airwolf, Barangay. Pulung Maragul, 

Angeles City; and Abegail Arcanghel, 29 years old, single, female, jobless and a resident of 2772 Maharlika, Dau Checkpoint, Mabalacat City, Pampanga. 

Sangalang said the two suspects were arrested on Friday evening at No. 3036, Guiwa St., Sitio Airwolf, Barangay Pulung Maragul, Angeles City.

Sangalang said joint elements of PDEA R3, Police Station 3, Police Station 1, CMFC, ACPDEU and CIU under the supervision of PMaj. Daryl Gonzales, have conducted the buy-bust operation which led to the arrest of the suspects and confiscation of the shabu. Also confiscated were four pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu weighing 175 grams; P1,000 bill marked money and one brown wallet.

Sangalang said the ACPO will remain steadfast in enforcing the law amidst COVID-19 pandemic to maintain peace and order in the city.  

Charges are now being readied against the suspects at the Angeles City Prosecutor’s Office.
