P1.2-M ‘meth’ seized in Angeles sting ops

ANGELES CITY — About P1.2 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) was confiscated by police authorities here during a buy-bust operation along C Avenue corner 2nd Street, Barangay Balibago here Thursday.

Police Colonel Narvin Mangune, director of the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO), said a lady drug trafficker was arrested during the anti-illegal drugs operations. He identified the suspect as Loren Benito Laguiwan, 32, of St. Francis, Meycauayan, Bulacan.

Mangune said the suspect did not resist arrest.

The suspect, Mangune said, met a poseur buyer cop after a series of negotiations through exchange of text messages past 4 p.m.

Laguiwan handed two medium-size plastic bags, each carrying 100 grams, as what was agreed upon in the negotiations. She was arrested immediately after receiving dusted money from a member of the police.

Mangune said prevailing street value of shabu is P600,000 for every 100 grams.

Laguiwan is included in the list of illegal drugs personalities in Bulacan and Angeles City, it was gathered.

The suspect was taken to ACPO for further investigation as violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied against her.

Angeles City mayor-elect Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. earlier said that campaign against illegal drugs will be among his top priorities in the next three years.

“I want Angeles to be a model of drug-free city in the country,” said Lazatin during a forum with Pampanga Press Club members.
