Suspected shabu worth P30 million was recovered in Angeles City, Pampanga on Tuesday, the PDEA announced.
PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino said, elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Special Enforcement Service (PDEA SES) under the direct supervision of Director Levi S. Ortiz, PDEA Regional Officer NCR together with MIG3-ISAFP, recovered P30 million worth of suspected shabu in the residence of Yiye Chen in 6-7 Jasmin Street, Hensonville, Barangay Malabanias, Angeles City , Pampanga.
Chen is a drug personality arrested by elements of PDEA Regional Office NCR (PDEA RO-NCR) following the implementation of a search warrant. He was charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and confiscated 36,584.5023 grams of suspected shabu on August 5, 2016.
The recovery of the contraband was incidental during the ocular inspection led by the Prosecutor in-charge of the case which was staged in the premises of Chen’s residence.
As the team installed a light for a better sight of the area, they noticed that granules of white crystalline substance fell from the ceiling, which was immediately subjected for K9 detection.
The dog positively reacted as it sniffed the substance to be suspected shabu, so the team decided to tear down the ceiling that resulted in the discovery of more or less five kilograms of suspected shabu, Aquino added.
It was the second time that authorities bagged millions worth of shabu in Hensonville Subdivision, Brgy Malabanias, Angeles City. Two other shabu lab were uncovered last year in Timog, Brgy Pampang and Villa Dolores in Brgy Sto. Domingo.
Over a billion worth of chemicals used in the manufacture of shabu had been confiscated in Angeles City alone.
